Did you know who's up there? Ohh, of cause it wasn't me, I'm coward, shhhhh....and also, my stomach will crumble when "droping" from higher level.

Okay, can you see who sat in the left-middle, with orange t-shirt? And also, the one who sat beside the orange shirt.... Haha, the orange one was Patric and the one next to Patric was Pete Drew!! Haha, we were in Dream World, Gold Coast.

One more warning for you guys if you'll be there soon. Don't go for the "CRAWL" ride, ohhh....It was killing me!!!!

The 12 Apostles in Australia

At first, when we reached here, we've totally no clue why our tour guide brought us to "these rockiessss"? Though, though~~~ those rockies are 'quite' special~~ with their extraordinary shapes, look like limestone sculptures situated on the Great Ocean Road, Victoria.

Then, some travellers started to explain to us about the originality of these twelve apostles and this may be considered. According them, they were chosen by Jesus Christ Himself during His Ministry... Ah huh~~!! Emmmmmmmm... Whoa, twelve of them have their own names??? And they are listed in some places in The Bible. Wow, sound cool. I just can remember one of the names is Judas. He is someone that understand Jesus the most. I think this is a myth of this Twelve Apostle.

According to what we can see, these sandstone columns formed over thousands of years. The sedimentary layer at ocean level is denser, harder, than many of the layers above it. Still, with timeless pounding of waves, the layer breaks down and, periodically, columns and arches that stood for millenia topple into the ocean.

Actually, we've never really seen all the twelve of them, we can only see 8 of them. I think some of them are being the smaller surrounding rocks, crumbles into the sea or perhaps went back to Jesus :) .

I still have one wondering whether Captain Cook has visited here before? ;)

captain cook's cottage

This video is about the tour inside Captain Cook's cottage when Patric and I were visiting it in Melbourne. Most probably I've helped you to save up your AU$4 to enter this cottage...hehe. Before you watch the video, know a little bit about Captain Cook and his cottage.

In 1933 a cottage in Yorkshire which had belonged to Captain Cook's parents came on the market. This aroused great interest in Australia, and soon Russell Grimwade (a local scientist, businessman and philanthropist) had agreed to purchase it for Victoria and have it transported to Melbourne.

After some debate about where the cottage should be rebuilt and for what purpose it should be used, the current location of the Fitzroy Gardens was decided upon. The dismantled cottage arrived in Melbourne in April 1934 and was opened in October that year. Over one of the doorways is the inscription "JGC 1755" (James and Grace Cook - the parents of Captain James Cook).

Did Captain Cook spend his boyhood in that cottage?

If the date 1755 indicates the year in which it was built or purchased by his parents then the answer is no. Cook was then aged twenty-seven and had long since left Ayrton to become a seaman. If, as is possible, the date indicated the year in which his parents rebuilt the cottage then he may have spent some of his boyhood between the age of eight and seventeen there.

Did Captain Cook know the cottage?

Yes. He visited his father there in 1772. However the cottage has been modified and practically rebuilt a number of times, and it may be that the beam with the inscription is the only feature dating back to Cook's parents time.

In the end, it doesn't particularly matter whether he lived there or not. It is a tangible reminder of the sort of cottage and humble surroundings from which one of the world's great navigators came. It quickly became a favourite with tourists and locals and is one of Melbourne's most visited attractions. It contains numbers of displays associated with the life of Captain James Cook.

The furnitures in the cottage are relatively small size, especially his bed. Check it out here...
